Koolaid-dyed baby surprise jacket with goldfish bowl buttons. In Fisherman's Wool/Lion Brand.
Inspired by Debbie New's Unexpected Knitting chapter on scribble lace. Out of handpainted bulky wool and cotton crochet thread.
From the Anticraft webzine. Snarky thing. Out of Encore worsted and stash wool everything else. And gold lame.
Here is the front, showing one side with the tie tucked in and the other peeking out.
Love the back on this sweater. Just be mindful of starting the yarn for the other side at the same color spot so the colors match up when you assemble it.
Detail on my flower basket shawl, Evelyn Clark's design, now available from Fiber Trends, and in the Fall 2004 issue of Interweave Knits.
Flower Basket Shawl for me. In Elann baby cashmere, dark plum. Knit with size 8 US, single strand, otherwise following the pattern as written.
Crocheted felted Noro Kureyon hat, pattern in The Happy Hooker (Stoller, Workman Press, 2006)
These have rolled brims to accommodate preemie heads, and then how they grow. Cotton, with ribbon slubs. Can't remember the name of the yarn, but it was Katia 05 and so cute.
Made up this pattern from st patterns in Barbara Abbey's knitting book. Which I think is vastly underrated. Two strands of Lamb's Pride, fat needles. About 2 hours to knit. Days to design.
The faux lopi, of fat French yarn and its American cousin Kool Wool, both made in Italy. For DD1. 2005.
My own design. Using patterns from Mary Thomas's pattern book and Sarah Bradberry's knitting-about.com site (the sleeve edging). In Fleece Artist silk/wool.
Flower Basket Shawl from Fall 2004 Interweave Knits. In indiecita alpaca. Finished January 2005.
Fishermans' wool, koolaid dyed. Probably strawberry and grape flavor. My own design. December 2004.
Detail of scarf. Random stripes of mohair, angora, rayon/nylon, wool. With long fringe. Completed December 2004. Knit each row in different yarn, leaving about a 10-inch tail on both ends of the row to form the fringe.
Spring 2004. Schachenmyer Goa yarn. Phildar's making it now. My own design. KBTH winner in the way beyond contest, I forget the category.
Toddler sweater I made for the girls. Chenille and wool. I love these fibres together. Briggs & Little and Classic Elite as I recall.
This is a heavily modified Debbie Bliss pattern. Like, um, the yarn's different, the animals are different, the colors are different, the stripes are added, the bottom edge and collar are different. That's all. For DDs. 2001. Out of I think a Phildar superwash and a lot of other scraps of stuff that was not superwash. My kid commissioned the animal choices and places.
