Just wanted to thank you for all the support.
It's funny what happens. Striking images pop up at odd times now. Like standing in front of our apartment watching the billowing smoke clouds obscuring the window, and asking for some sign that things would be ok.
Then seeing the orange chrysanthemums in the window box as the smoke would ebb before starting up again.
That was a good sign.

Dear Nilda,
I hope you can go back home soon.
I remember when I was 7 or 8, part of my house caught fire while my Dad was trying to burn something (I can´t even remember what it was). I was young, but I still remember how bad it felt. And I also thank the Fire Department for their help.
I wish you the best from Buenos Aires

Dear Nilda,
About 18 years ago the walk up building next to mine caught fire and we were evacuated at 8:00AM, as I was going to work. I remember standing on the street with my laundry bag and the other residents, watching the firemen work. It is the only time in my life I remember feeling such strongly opposing mixed emotions. I was horrified thinking that I might be about to lose everything I owned, but at the same time elated to be standing safely on the street and not trapped in that building. Stay strong, we are praying for you.
